In late May, the Humane Society of Lebanon County (HѕLC) in Pennsylvania received a distressing call from local authorities about a dog trapped in a storm drain. At first glance, the dog seemed lifeless, but hope arose when he raised his head while removing the drain grate. Quickly, a volunteer and a staff member rushed to the scene, ready to provide the urgent medical care the dog clearly needed. The scene is heartbreaking: a fragile dog, shrunken and barely hanging on to life.
Buddy received three days of life-saving emergency care. Miraculously, his condition gradually improved. Despite his age and the need for regular medical follow-ups, including ultrasounds, x-rays, and eye doctor appointments, Buddy made remarkable progress. Due to his advanced age and his inability to be sedated, finding a patient and loving foster home emerged as the ideal solution for him. HѕLC committed to continuing medical and nutritional support for him.
Buddy, a kind soul, gets along well with cats and prefers the company of calmer dogs. He is on his way to feeling much better, a testament to resilience and the power of caring.
In a world often clouded by negativity and confusion, Buddy’s story is a beacon of kindness, support and healing. We are now focused on finding a foster home for Buddy as he continues his recovery journey. This is more than just a rescue story; It is a reminder to embrace compassion and hope in our lives. Let’s get together for Buddy’s next chapter.
