There have been some massive snakes that have been саᴜɡһt on camera over the years. Here are some of the biggest:
- Medusa – In 2011, a reticulated python named Medusa was officially recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world’s longest snake ever in captivity, measuring 25 feet 2 inches (7.67 meters) long.
- Fluffy – In 2018, a Burmese python named Fluffy was саᴜɡһt on camera by wildlife officials in the Everglades National Park, measuring 18 feet 3 inches (5.56 meters) long.
- Titanoboa – While not technically a live snake, the fossilized remains of the Titanoboa have given scientists a good idea of just how big this prehistoric serpent was. Estimated to have lived around 60 million years ago, the Titanoboa could have reached lengths of up to 42 feet (12.8 meters) and weighed over a ton.
- Nagini – In the movie “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” the character Nagini is depicted as a massive snake that measures around 15 feet (4.6 meters) long. While the snake in the movie is a CGI creation, it is based on the Burmese python, which can reach similar lengths.
- Anaconda – The green anaconda is one of the largest snakes in the world, and while there have been reports of individuals reaching lengths of up to 30 feet (9.1 meters), there are few verifiable cases of such massive snakes. However, there are many images and videos of green anacondas measuring over 20 feet (6 meters) long, making them still some of the largest snakes ever саᴜɡһt on camera.
